I had a c-section at 8 months and on arrival at the hospital staff we're quick to tell me I might not be able to breast feed my baby due to lack of milk. How wrong were they?! Just two days after the birth I woke in the middle of the night unable to move due to my swollen breasts. Hot packs and an electric breast pump were used and then I feed my son too, to empty the milk. When I left the hospital they had a fridge full of bottles of my breast milk.
I breast feed my son until he was one year old and stopped by my own choice (he was getting too heavy and had teeth).
Even with the use of breast pumps and hot packs, I over-produced milk and had a few issues with blocked ducts.
I tried various types of breast pumps but the best, for me, was the electric one. The manual ones were uncomfortable and difficult to use.

Did you breast feed? Did you use an breast pump? Which type?
